As part of Ullapool Harbour upgrade works to accommodate the new MV Loch Seaforth ferry, the existing linkspan was replaced with new. Following decommissioning of the existing linkspan from its working position, it was transported to its laydown area on the main pier via floating crane. The laydown area was secured to prevent unauthorised access during operations, ensuring the safety to the harbour users and general public. Once in position, secured and levelled, Lochshell Engineering began dismantling and cutting the linkspan into sections for transport and disposal. In total, the linkspan was over 36m long and 7m wide at its maximum width.
